We are looking for a self-motivated and results-driven Director of Manufacturing-Freezer Platform to direct and manage our organization's manufacturing business activities in Detroit and to develop and implement effective business strategies and programs. Duties for the Director of Manufacturing will include overseeing daily manufacturing operations, adhering to the Company's quality management system, allocating budget resources, formulating policies, coordinating business operations, ensuring excellent customer service, improving administration processes, engaging vendors, hiring and training employees, identifying business opportunities, and monitoring financial activities. An entrepreneurial spirit and vision is required in providing leadership to business functions while maintaining relationships with customers, generating new business, increasing staff productivity, improving service and meeting business and company objectives. The successful candidate for this role should possess excellent communication skills, superior knowledge of manufacturing, operations and business functions, exceptional budgeting, and financial skills, and strong leadership qualities. The Director of Manufacturing-Freezer Platform should account for all business activities, support staff development, enhance efficiency, drive sales, and improve revenue, maintain relationship with key suppliers, enhance the organization's image, and meet overall growth objectives. The Director of Manufacturing will report directly to BioLife Solutions Vice President of Manufacturing. Responsibilities and duties:
Leads Operations staff, including manufacturing operations, supply chain, manufacturing engineering, and logistics in executing manufacturing requirements based on sales forecasts and inventory plans. Collaborates with the Quality Director to imbed quality processes into operations. Leads continuous improvement to achieve production standards, and cost parameters while creating a safe and productive work environment. Performs ROI analysis for special machinery and works closely with engineering personnel regarding product and process improvement and new product launches. Establishes plant policies consistent with corporate policies and provides leadership in the application of such policies to the plant's organization. Leads long-range plant expansion, conversion, and equipment planning. Oversees the maintenance of building, and equipment, and plant security and protection. Drives and enables high-impact recommendations of team members. Leads and initiates actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to product, process, and the quality system. Represents the organization in the community and promotes the organizations goodwill and interests in community activities. Enables and provides site leadership for a focused safety program. Addresses QMS and EMS requirements for Corrective and Preventive actions. Preforms other essential functions as assigned.
Qualifications:
Previous and demonstrated leadership of a site operation(s) inclusive of manufacturing, supply chain and logistics. Lean and/or Six Sigma certified. Demonstrated ability to achieve aggressive schedule, cost, quality and delivery goals that maximize value for customers and deliver extraordinary business results. Ability to maintain and follow a budget. Ability to lead, manage and coach team members. Ability to conduct work in a collaborative fashion. Demonstrated ability to implement continuous improvement programs and processes to achieve stretch operational goals. 5 years of progressive operational leadership roles that provided growth opportunities for operational personnel while optimizing efficiency through focused cross-training and skill development programs . Demonstrated ability to work in an ISO 13485 and GMP compliant environment, including being integral to customer and regulatory audits. Fully understands key elements of business P&L and take operational actions to maximize customer satisfaction, revenue growth, and margin expansion. Excellent analytical, financial, written, and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail. Develops and enables operating metrics to achieve business objectives and guide continuous improvement. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. Education:
o Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management or related field. o Minimum of 10 years of progressive operational management experiences that has delivered measurable high performance results. Acknowledgement:

Salary Range:
$200K -- $250K
Minimum Qualification
